Well, the ballot results for the Prudential Ridelondon are out and some 80000 Bradley Wiggins / Chris Froome / Mark Cavendish wannabees are all waiting every morning on their doorsteps for the postman. I spent the last few days being very “Matter of fact” about if I was going to get a place and how “it would be really nice to repeat the experience – if I got a place” but I was “not too worried” if I didn’t etc etc, (but secretly hanging about in the bushes waiting to ambush the postman every morning was not going down well with the neighbours) So today was the day that ended the waiting – and this arrived through my letterbox.
So now I need to do a few things before August the 10th 2014
1: Lose a ton of weight. (Christmas beer and pies)
2: Clock up some miles on the bike.
3: ….. and then do even more miles on the bike.
4: ………. and more.
5: Goto 2
If you are riding for the first time in the Prudential Ride London 100 – Check out my older posts from last years event.
I got in as well but nobody else in my Edinburgh cycling group did so will give it a miss. It’s not all bad as we have all signed up for Tour of the Borders (http://tourotheborders.com/) on the same date which should be a fantastic alternative. Would recommend an trip to Scotland for this one! Good luck.
Oh thats a shame… Tour of the Borders looks a top ride though, (Now on my tick list) I was also looking at the E’tape to Cymru (Looks like a real leg buster) Need to get my legs back to last years level, been far to lazy over the winter.
Good luck, if you do a lot of 2-5, it might result in 1
